يتناول هذا البحث دراسة مسائل العقيدة الإسلامية ممّا برع فيه أحد الأئمة السابقين، وهو الإمام أحمد بن الحسين البيهقي(ت:458ه)، وهذه المسائل التي يتناولها البحث: مسألة شفاعة نبينا محمد r، ثم إثبات الجنة ورؤية الله سبحانه وتعالى، والثالثة: حقيقة عذاب القبر.
ويلاحظ أنَّ هذه المسائل ممّا قد اختلف فيها عدد من العلماء السابقين. فانكرها بعضهم وأيدها كثيرون. غير أنَّ هذه الأيام كبيراً خاصة من أولئك الذين تأثروا بالأفكار العلمانية الطارئة على مجتمعاتنا الإسلامية. ولهذا فإنَّ كاتب هذا البحث قد تأثر بما أورده البيهقي في بعض مؤلفاته التي عالج فيها مسائل جمّة في العقيدة ومنها هذه الثلاثة. ولما كان البيهقي قد اقتفى أثر علماء الأمة الصادقين والصالحين فقد أثبت صحة الشفاعة، ورؤية الله سبحانه وتعالى في الآخرة، وثبوت عذاب القبر بالنصوص الشرعية التي لا لبس فيها.
ومن أجل ذلك قام الباحث بتتبع آراء البيهقي وأبرزها في هذا البحث المحدود والمفيد بإذن الله تعالى.
