Abstract

The study aims at throwing light on the relationship between terrorism and instructions with regard to aggression against tourists in addition to showing how much the terrorism incidents have negatively affected the declining incoming tourism in Jordan due to the September 11th incidents which took place in the USA in 2001 as well as the Amman Hotel Explosion in 2005. To achieve the study objectives, the descriptive, historical and statistical analytical approaches have been adopted using One-Way Analysis of Variance and the values of the coefficient of variance. The study shows that there is a negative relationship between terrorism and tourism and the Islamic Sharee'a's positive instructions urge us to achieve tourism security through treating tourists kindly and imposing punishment on those who attack tourists. The study also shows that the terrorism incidents, particularly the September 11th incidents and the Amman Hotel Explosion, have badly contributed to the declining incoming tourists who come to Jordan from different regions with different nationalities especially those who come from Europe and America.  Furthermore, the study shows that the influence of the September 11th incidents on the declining incoming tourism in Jordan is much stronger than that of the Amman Hotel Explosion.
