This paper is concerned in analyzing the acute relation between religion and philosophy (wisdom and Sharia') during the Islamic middle age, in accordance with Averroes perspective. Namely, in the one hand, it tries to highlight Averroes' approach in disentangling the misunderstood relationship between wisdom and Sharia', in his effort to reject the misconceptions and roamers that dominated the Islamic mind. In the other hand, it tries to originate such approach within Averroes philosophy, as he is the most prominent Islamic philosopher who dared to tickle such problem in an enlightened philosophical spirit.
Moreover, the paper shed light on Averroes' two sided epistemological approach: the first side is related to Sharia', where he stems from a relativistic perspective which relate Sharia' with the different scholars' interpretations of the text more than relating it to the essence of religious text. The second side is related to presenting Averroes' argument on hermeneutics which limits interpretative effort only to scholars and experts. Last but not least, it also tried to highlight Averroes' intense interest in presenting hermeneutics that depends on predicate inference, versus all other forms of extrapolation, such as the argumentative approach used by clergies and motakalimeen
